1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
Stampo does not require you to register, sign in, or create an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or payment information inside the app.
The only content you actively provide is the content you create while using the app — the photos you take of your stamps, the albums you organize them into, and the names and notes you attach to them. This content is written to your device's private application storage and to a local database on your device. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it.
Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.
Application Data
If you use our application, we may also request access to the following device capabilities. Each of these is optional in the sense that you may decline the permission, and you can change your decision at any time in your device settings — although declining will disable the related feature.
- Camera access. We request access to your device's camera so that you can photograph your stamps inside the app. Photos you capture with Stampo are saved into the app's private storage on your device. We do not upload, view, transmit, or back up these photos.
- Geolocation information. With your permission, we may request access to your approximate (coarse) location. This is used for a single purpose: to suggest a place name for a stamp you have just photographed, so that you do not have to type it yourself. Your coordinates are converted into a human-readable place name by the geocoding service built into your operating system (Google Play services on Android, Apple location services on iOS). Only the resulting place name is stored, and it is stored on your device as part of the stamp you created. We do not store your coordinates, we do not track your location in the background, and your location is never sent to our servers.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information — such as device characteristics and app usage — is collected automatically when you use our Services.
We use third-party analytics and diagnostics tools that are embedded in the app. The information they collect does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information), but may include:
- Device and technical data. Device model and manufacturer, operating system and version, application version, language and country settings, screen size, network connection type, and a randomly generated application-instance identifier used to distinguish one installation from another.
- Usage data. Events describing how the app is used — for example which screens are opened, which buttons are tapped, and when — together with timestamps. We use this to understand which features people actually use.
- Diagnostic and crash data. If the app crashes or encounters an error, we receive an automated report containing the device state at the time, the app version, and a technical stack trace, so that we can locate and fix the problem.
Analytics and diagnostics are provided by Google Firebase. See Section 4 for details.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, to fix problems, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.
We process the information we collect for the following reasons:
- To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to you. For example, to let you photograph a stamp and to suggest a place name for it.
- To improve and maintain our Services. We use aggregated usage information to understand which features are useful, which are confusing, and where people stop.
- To identify usage trends and diagnose technical problems. Crash reports tell us which devices and app versions are affected by a bug so that we can prioritize a fix.
- To respond to your inquiries and offer support. If you email us, we process your message and email address in order to reply.
- To comply with our legal obligations. We may process your information where we are required to do so by law, or to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights.
3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason to do so under applicable law.
If you are located in the EU or UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. We may rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission to use your personal information for a specific purpose — for example, when you grant camera or location access. You can withdraw your consent at any time by revoking the permission in your device settings.
- Legitimate Interests. We may process your information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and those interests do not outweigh your rights and freedoms — for example, analyzing how our Services are used to improve them, and diagnosing crashes to keep the app working.
- Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, or in connection with legal proceedings.
If you are located in Canada, we may process your information if you have given us specific permission (express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: We may share information with a limited number of service providers who help us run the app. We do not sell your personal information.
We may share your information in the following situations:
Third-party service providers
We share limited technical and usage information with vendors who perform services on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work:
| Service | Provider | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Google LLC | Device and technical data, app usage events, application-instance identifier |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Google LLC | Crash reports, device state, app version, stack traces |
| Firebase Remote Config | Google LLC | Device and app version information, used to deliver the right configuration to your app |
| Operating-system geocoding | Google LLC (Android) / Apple Inc. (iOS) | Approximate coordinates, only at the moment you save a stamp and only if you granted location access, in order to return a place name |
These providers process the information under their own privacy policies. You can review Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Apple's at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Your photos and albums are not shared with any of these providers. They never leave your device unless you choose to share a specific photo yourself using your device's share function, in which case it goes to the app you selected and is governed by that app's own privacy policy.
Business Transfers
We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
5. WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?
In Short: We are not responsible for the safety of any information that you share with third parties that we may link to.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, which are opened in an in-app browser window or in your device's browser. We do not guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this Privacy Notice. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of any third-party websites. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly with any questions.
6. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: The app itself does not use cookies, but the tools embedded in it use device identifiers.
Stampo is a mobile application and does not use browser cookies for its own functionality. However, the analytics and diagnostics tools described above use identifiers stored on your device — such as a randomly generated application-instance identifier — to distinguish one installation from another and to group events into sessions. Web pages opened inside the app may set their own cookies, which are controlled by those websites and not by us.
You can reset or limit these identifiers through your device settings (for example, "Reset advertising identifier" on Android, or "Allow Apps to Request to Track" on iOS).
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless otherwise required by law.
- Content you create in the app (photos, albums, names, notes) remains on your device for as long as you keep it. It is deleted when you delete it inside the app, or when you uninstall the app. Because it is stored only on your device, we cannot restore it for you.
- Analytics data is retained by our analytics provider in accordance with its standard retention settings, generally for no longer than 14 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated.
- Crash reports are typically retained for approximately 90 days.
- Support emails are retained for as long as needed to resolve your request and to keep a record of the correspondence.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Content you create in the app is stored in the application's private storage area, which the operating system isolates from other applications on your device. Information transmitted to our service providers is sent over encrypted connections.
However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at bonmobile981@gmail.com.
10. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information.
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure, (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information, (iv) if applicable, to data portability, and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information.
To make such a request, please contact us at bonmobile981@gmail.com. Because the app does not require an account, please describe your device and the approximate dates of use so that we can attempt to locate any relevant records.
If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority. If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Withdrawing your consent. If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by revoking the camera or location permission in your device settings, or by contacting us. Please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal.
Opting out of analytics. You can stop all analytics and diagnostic collection by uninstalling the app. You may also limit it at the operating-system level using your device's privacy and advertising settings.
11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
12. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: If you are a resident of certain US states, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about the personal information we maintain about you and how we have processed it, to correct inaccuracies, and to get a copy of or delete your personal information.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights: the right to know whether we are processing your personal data; the right to access your personal data; the right to correct inaccuracies; the right to request deletion; the right to obtain a copy of the personal data you previously shared with us; the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights; and the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
We have not sold or shared any personal information to third parties for business or commercial purposes, and we do not process personal information for targeted advertising or profiling. The categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 1 — in summary, internet or other electronic network activity information (app usage events), device identifiers, and, if you grant permission, approximate geolocation data used momentarily to produce a place name.
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at bonmobile981@gmail.com. We will respond within the time period required by your state's law. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response.
13. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this Notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
14. HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?
If you have questions or comments about this Notice, you may email us at bonmobile981@gmail.com.
15. HOW CAN YOU REVIEW, UPDATE, OR DELETE THE DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?
Based on the applicable laws of your country or state of residence, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, details about how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, or delete your personal information.
For the content you create in Stampo, you are always in control: you can delete individual stamps and albums inside the app, and uninstalling the app removes all of it from your device permanently.
For the technical and usage information collected automatically, please submit a request by emailing bonmobile981@gmail.com.
